MyMedicare opened for patient voluntary registration on 1 October 2023. As part of the Department of Health and Aged Care’s commitment to strengthening Medicare, there are benefits for both patients and providers of healthcare.
You can enable your patients to add you as their MyMedicare practice and promote the benefits with the following Healthengine solutions.
Capture patient registrations with Healthengine custom forms and complete their MyMedicare registration on their behalf
Healthengine’s GP Complete customers can now use the MyMedicare custom form template to capture patient registrations for MyMedicare with your practice. Easily share the form link via url or QR code at any time to your patients or attach the form to other Healthengine products automatically. Your patients send the completed form back to you to complete the MyMedicare registration on their behalf.
Send your patients an SMS about MyMedicare with Communicate
Healthengine’s Communicate allows you to quickly and easily send an SMS campaign to your patients.
Send a short SMS to patients with:
- the option to reply to you to start the application for them which they will then be prompted to complete in their Medicare Online Account or Express Plus Medicare Mobile app or
- provide a link to the Medicare online account page for them to follow the registration steps
- you could create a page on your practice website with the information they need to register for MyMedicare with your practice and direct them there.

Download these ready-to-go assets to promote MyMedicare at your practice
You can raise awareness about MyMedicare in your practice. This will allow patients to easily ask questions at your front desk and opt to complete the hard copy MyMedicare form at your practice.
